Beginning with this month, I will be sending you a newsletter about your web ring - Archaeology on the Net. The newsletter will cover the news and improvements about the ring, latest site additions to the ring, some stats, and the featured sites of the month.
A hypertext copy of this newsletter is available on the Archaeology
on the Net Web Ring pages -

Before taking a look at the stats and latest site additions to Archaeology on the Net, I want to thank each and all of you for becoming a member of the ring. Archaeology on the Net Web Ring was created on February 23, 1998 and in five weeks it has grown up to cover 74 archaeology related sites. Each week we are receiving 5-10 submissions and this promises for a larger ring in the next months.
We are grateful to those of you who have placed the ring code and ring logo correctly in your pages. This is how the web ring continues operating and this way you receive visitors to your pages. I have noticed that some of the members have placed the code and logo at the top of their pages or at places immediately visible to the visitor. My warmest thanks goes to these members providing Archaeology on the Net web ring better navigation opportunities.
And some words for those of you who have still not placed the ring
logo and code into their registered pages. Please insert the web ring code and logo to
your pages as soon as possible.
Do not forget that other members with logos and code inserted provide you visitors and it
is your obligation to insert the ring logo and code so that the visitors to your site can
use the navigation bar and visit the next sites in the ring. I am sorry to announce that I
will have to remove the sites without the code and logo to the queue in mid-April and
these sites will remain out of the ring until they insert the code and logo and notify me
about this via e-mail.
The featured member sites of the month are Kevin Callahan`s
Anthropology Human Origins and Eliot Lee`s Anthro TECH. Kevin Callahan`s Anthropology
Human Origins page was the most active member page in the stats. The rich content of the
page and anthropologist-friendly design of the page brought Kevin the award. Anthro TECH,
on the other hand, is a new and improved search engine and index for anthropologists and
archaeologists. I considered this page to be one of the two featured sites because of its
contributions to exposure of archaeology resources on the internet. Congratulations Kevin,
Congratulations Eliot... Links to your pages will be listed at the very top of the
Archaeology on the Net Web Ring Home Page under the heading - Featured member sites of the
month - throughout April 1998.
I strongly recommend all ring members to visit these sites at:
